For immediate release: December 1st 2009. Gerraspine AG today announced that the Company conducted its very first surgeon training session for its FENIX® Facet implant.
Horace Hale, c.e.o. and a major shareholder of Gerraspine AG stated; "This brings closer to reality our quest to bring to the field of spine surgery a device that will restore and maintain function in the human spine, with a resultant long term effect. The extremely positive response to our technology, the FENIX® Facet implant, by the attendees, who, by the way, came from 6 different European countries, has confirmed our confidence that our technology will be the preferred option for a long term solution to the problem of providing 'Normal', pain free motion to the human Functional Spine Unit”. The consensus of opinion from the many interesting comments, was that the FENIX® Facet implant is a “Fascinating and valuable technology” which deserves a place in the surgeons arsenal of treatment modalities. Gerraspine AG is planning a gradual rollout in order to ensure a smooth and successful integration of the FENIX® technology into 4 of the largest EU spine markets, by the end of the 3rd quarter of 2010. Our implant has been developed to provide a motion preserving alternative to spinal fusion, for patients suffering from chronic low back pain due to degenerative or otherwise diseased facet joints. The system resurfaces diseased facet anatomy, thereby, allowing the surgeon to alleviate pain while restoring physiological motion and stability to the lumbar spine. FENIX® is suitable for use as a standalone implant or with any artificial disc or disc nucleus replacement implant. Gerraspine AG is a Swiss registered Corporation dedicated to providing the specialist spine surgeon with the means to restore normal mobility and pain free function to the spine, with a resultant long term effect. -PR Report (PDF) |
